Frost build up inside freezer. Turned the timer until it clicked into the defrost mode. How long does it stay in this mode? Should I unplug the refrigerator until it thaws out? I turned the timer a few months ago and it has worked fine until now.
It should stay on defrost about 25 minutes. If it does not switch back into the cooling mode, replace the defrost timer.
Otherwise remove the rear panel in the freezer and check the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat for continuation. The defrost thermostat must be cold at that time.
The model number you posted is incomplete. Verify and repost it.
