Hi
I have a Daewoo FRSU20DAI side by side fridge freezer. The fridge compartment temperature seems ok & the fan seems to run ok. The freezer compartment does not get cold enough, particularly the top where the ice cubes no longer freeze. The fan runs but I have my suspicions that it does not run all the time it should. The bottom of the freezer compartment is definately cooler than the top. The compressor runs ok, as does the condensor fan. I have defrosted & cleaned everything I can think of. I have the service manual,
http://www.daewoo.cl/sta-info/manuals/refrig/FRS-U20BCI_U21GAI.pdf which seems a bit vague when it comes to fault codes.
Any advice gladly received
Hi

just wondering if a solution was found as i have exactly the same problem with mine, model is Daewoo FRSU20DAI the same as yours, wonder if this is a common fault .
Hi Debs
Yes I found a solution, no thanks to the people on this forum who didn’t even acknowlede the questions I asked. My problem was solved by replacing the circulation fan at the top of the freezer compartment behind the ice dispenser. On my fridge freezer the fan appeared to be running a bit too slowly at times. Eventually I managed to spot it not running at all. Note, the fan does not run with the door open so you have to hold the door switch such. After replacing the fan the difference was immediate. The part No. for the fan is D4612AAA21.

Hi
I think i have the same problem with my Daewoo fridge/freezer. Can you tell me is it the fan inside the freezer behind the ice maker part, and was it easy to replace, and is yours still working fine…thanks so much for the information you have posted so far, it has saved a lot of time..Peter
Hi Peter
Yes, the fan I replaced was behind the ice maker & yes, it was quite easy to replace. My freezer has worked fine ever since. There is a link to the service manual earlier in the post. This will show you how to remove the fan, then you need to replace the fan motor in it’s casing.
Let me know if you need any more help
Richard
Hi Richard,
Did you get any beeping from the fridge?
My water icon blinks and beeps indicating a fault.
I checked the fault menu and it says fault code c1 and f3.
My freezer also leaks at the front once a day.
Did you get any of the above issues?
Thanks
Hi,
No, I didn’t get any beeps or leaking from my freezer. If you look at the service manual linked earlier in the post, it tells you that the fault code f1 is for the freezer sensor & C1 is the cycle. It also tells you how to test/change the sensor.
Richard
Richard it sound like you may have fixed my daewoo as well…Thank you mate..!

Hi guys, I have the same problem, this first happened about 18months ago, so we called an engineer out. After he checked everything, he said it was the freezer fan motor. Having ordered the part, I couldn’t get hold of him again, so I decided to fit it myself.
Once I dismantled the inside of the freezer, I couldn’t see any sign of a motor for the freezer fan, only a motor for the fridge fan. So I installed the motor in the fridge, just in case this might help.
Needless to say it never. But by this time, the block of ice behind the plastic panel had thawed and once everything had been put back, the freezer got to a low enough temperature to freeze food, but not the ice. So we just put up with it.
Now, it’s happened again, so I defo need to sort it out.
Where is the freezer fan motor situated? The link for the service manual doesn’t work.
Any help would be extremely gratefully received. Having ice in this weather would be fantastic!!!
Have fitted the fan into the freezer now, and will leave overnight to check to the temperature. If this doesn’t work… Any ideas???
Just to share this refrigerator that can catch fire.
Fire fighters occurred after only 12 minutes have extinguished the fire in the kitchen but I have had thousands of Euros of damage (the same refrigerator, all appliances, medicines, foods, etc.). The entire apartment was filled with dense smoke and smelly and I had to throw tents, books and whatever else was impregnated with the debris. I had to clean up and repaint the entire apartment, put the tiles in the kitchen.
Although the report faiths firefighters was reported that the fire was started by the motor of the refrigerator, as it was “old” 7 year old Daewoo has refused, even after the stress of a consumer association, consider a partial compensation.
the advice to you is: if you have a fridge Daewoo always check, install a smoke detector and fire in the kitchen and … subscribe to a specific insurance.
