What happens & when:

I have a year old Dacor Wall Oven/Microwave whose microwave fan appears to have failed for the third time in a year. The first two times, the fan developed a metal-on-metal grinding noise and was replaced. Now it appears that the fan has just stopped working, as when I microwave something, the steam is not being removed.

Before I call this in, I wanted to confirm if both the oven and the microwave fans are supposed to be on when I microwave something, as the sound is now much quieter than it was before, and the volume of air below the oven seems to be less. Also wanted to know if others are having the same issue with this model, or did I just get a lemon.

Generally, in a double oven or microwave/oven combo, both fans will only run when the lower oven is in use. If only the upper oven or microwave section is being used, then only the upper fans should operate.
