Does anyone have any info on this error code and how to fix it? I have a 14 month old Dacor Double oven wall mount- “Top 'o the line” so they told me --$5700 worth… Anyway, I NEVER use the bottom oven. Maybe once in the entire 14 months that I’ve owned this beast. This Thanksgiving dinner was at my place and I when I tried to fire the bottom oven up, it won’t work! L60 is what the display says. I found ONE reference to this code online - Lower Cooling Fan failure. HuH! I won’t even ask how that could be with only one use in the past year, but how convenient that the unit is now 2 months out of warranty and I’ve got Christmas Dinner to prepare for 20 people.
Thanks for your rapid response. I have another question or two..
In speaking with the Dacor folks they gave me the reset code so that I can continue to use the top oven (Control+Secure+#, S1234). It worked!
Now when I activate the bottom oven it heats, but the fan does not spin AND the display tells me to “close the door” even tho it is shut.
Q1) Will I harm the oven if I continue to use the upper unit?
Q2) How do I diagnose a bad relay board? (cant find the serial number on the oven, but the sticker on the front of the manual says MOV230S*V-C-06090415)
Q3) How can I access the full Service Manual so I can utilize the “Service Screens” as described in the Service manual?
I’m pretty handy with electrical so I’m sure I can handle the replace/repair as long as I have your forum to hold my hand:).
(1) I do not think if you continue to use the upper oven will cause any damages to the lower one.
(2) The name plate with the model and the serial numbers is behind the upper door latch access panel. You can read it through the vents.
The diagnostic procedure described in the service manual, posted previously.
(3) You can find the information about “Service Screens” in the second part of the service manual, but you have to have a Service ID # in order to use it with your oven.
I hope this technician performed a troubleshooting and he properly diagnosed the problem. If you check the service manual, ERC is even not listed as a possible source of this problem. Show to him the service manual and ask him to perform the troubleshooting according to the manual. You have to pay for repair only if the oven is fixed.
Hi Gene,
Imagine my surprise when I found your recent reply so long after our initial conversation. And on the same day that I began getting the error code again! Are you a professional mind reader, or is that just a part time gig?!
I have been using the bottom oven for the past year or so (only occasionally) using a thin magnet over the mag-switch in the upper right hand corner of the door jam- seems to have worked well.. so far. Yesterday I began getting the L60 notice again. I had forgotten about our conversation on this board from 2 years ago, and I thank you very much for your help back then.
I will try the steps you gave me then, again, and I’ll let you know if they work this time.
Re-reading the thread, I see that “nykigudia” is having the same problem that I had so long ago and his post explains the mind reading. How fortunate that the board emailed me your response to him as well.
nykigudia - If there is anything I can do to help just let me know…

KD,
Sorry for the delay.
It can be more complicated then I thought when I posted the previous reply due to a Service ID which you can get from Dacor only.
Hi guys,
Gene, on my first communication with you about my L60 problem I posted a reset code.. “control+secure+#, S1234”
It turns out that the “control” is incorrect.. there is no control button. “secure+#” (hold together for a 2 or 3 seconds) gets me into the service ID entry screen. S1234 is my service ID code. (7 press 4x to get to S)
The service screens allow me to do just about anything I want with this oven. Reset the error codes, play "off/on with the various components, etc.. very handy to know since a service call is SOOOO expensive@!
Hope this helps anybody else looking for answers.
Oh, and by the way.. Gene’s post of the link to the service manual saved the day!
Thanks again…
Jon Dinner party this coming weekend…
Why not put off til tomorrow what I have to do today.
If anyone reading this has a U60 code, it should be the same as the L60.
First, try to clear the code. To do this you must push and hold # and ‘cancel’ at the same time until the screen asks for an ID code. Then type in (using the key pad) S1234 (you get S by pressing 7 five times) Then simply press ‘clear all’ and the code should disappear.
If that doesnt work then pull the oven from the wall by removing the door and unscrewing the stainless steel trim. Pull the oven straight out and attatch the pull handles to pull it completely out. Next, place the oven on a secure stand (such as a milk crate). Then turn off the breaker to all electricity in your kitchen and confirm the power is off. Then, using a ‘Torx’ brand bit, take off the sheetmetal cover on top of the oven. Download a service manual to your oven and check power to the fan as described in the manual. You can find service manuals on the web (do not use owners manuals) Next, check power at the Hall effect sensor as described in the manual. You just need a volt-ohm meter to do these tests. The manual describes it well. If these tests confirm the fan is not defective, you need a relay board. Dacor part #101559. I got one for $165 last week from Dacor. 99% of the time this is the problem and the boards are even back-ordered. Dont be critical of Dacor, the ovens work well. My advice is just to buy the extended warranty when you get one. Like any high performance machine, they run well if cared for by experts.
I continue to have the same problem as 530gonzo but i replaced my Relay Board and the problem continues. I’m still receiving an L60 Cooling Fan Error. We purchased our DACOR Double oven and only used the bottom oven a twice. We use the top over about 99.9 % of the time why does it indicates having problems with the lower oven that we don’t use? I will never spend this kind of money on an oven again. You expect something like this to happen on a less expensive oven but not one that cost over 5k. Any help would be greatly appreciated…!
The relay board i purchase cost me 199.00 OEM part number 101559. If this wasn’t the problem, then i think it’s the cooling fan?
