Criterion CDW2FCMB dishwasher E1 code

model:CDW2FCMB Dishwasher throwing E1 code. Was about to replace water inlet valve but found air damper clogged. Cleaned that and replaced. Worked ok for a couple days then back to E1 code. Planning to replace water inlet valve that I ordered from you. Some relation to when lawn sprinklers are running but inconsistent. House water pressure good. Any other thoughts and diagrams of parts / repair videos would be much appreciated. I’m a novice but enjoy fixing what I can. Thank youBrand:Criterion

Hi, here are a few things I would check first to help narrow down the issue:

  1. Check the water supply valve. Make sure the shut-off valve supplying water to the dishwasher is completely open. On most standard shut-off valves, turn the handle counterclockwise (to the left) to open it and clockwise (to the right) to close it. Turn it counterclockwise until it is fully open, but don’t force it.
  2. Check the water inlet hose. Make sure the hose isn’t kinked, bent, or pinched behind the dishwasher, which could restrict the water coming into the unit.
  3. Check the inlet valve filter screen. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the inlet hose from the dishwasher. There should be a small filter screen inside the inlet valve. Check it for sediment, calcium, rust, or other buildup and clean it if needed.
  4. Reset the dishwasher. Unplug the dishwasher or turn the breaker off for about 5 minutes. Restore power and try running a normal cycle again.
  5. Check the float switch. Look at the float inside the bottom of the dishwasher and make sure it moves freely up and down. Food or debris can sometimes get underneath it and cause it to stick. If the dishwasher thinks the float is already raised, it may prevent the unit from filling with water.

I would start with these checks and see what you find. If everything checks out and you’re still having the same problem, then we can move on to testing the water inlet valve and its electrical circuit.
