The right front dual level burner on my Maytag electric stove went out. I provided the model and serial number, and ordered the part number recommended by Appliance Parts Pros. Upon disassembly of my stove top, I found that the replacement part does not have the same electrical connections as the existing burner. These differences include:
-
The existing burner has no light; new burner does (blue wire)
-
the 3 upper terminals on the existing burner have 3 terminals; the new burner only has two and they are not in the same order as the existing.
-
Effectively, the new lower terminal block only has two terminals; the existing lower terminal block has 4 (although one goes to the upper terminal block, black wire, and apparently the new element has a direct connection from the lower to the upper terminal block, but not in the same order as the original).
The oven is a Maytag model MER6872BAW, serial 15069119AN, and the replacement part for the right front dual level burner is (W10823709).
Is this the correct part and I am missing something, or is this the wrong part, given the differences in electrical connections?
