Main Symptom:Screen Displays Range On/ Cooktop On when all switches are off
What happens & when:
Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: One by one I unplugged all switches to see which one would cause the light to go off showing the bad culprit. None of them caused the error to go off the screen. Anyone else have a suggestion?
I am assuming you are seeing a hot surface light staying on, or is it the on indicator light that is staying on? The on indicator light is checked at each switch with power off to the range. Check with a meter from P to L1; any continuity with the switch off would be the bad switch. If it is a hot indicator light, that would be the element that is defective. Again, with power off, check at each element across the two indicator terminals, which are the two smaller terminals, any continuity with a cold element is defective.
Well its an error on the screen not the light its self. But will try the contunity tester now. Thanks
