Dishwasher problem that could be either the “Console Assembly” or the “Electronic Control” - I can’t tell which. Please help.
Here is a sequence for my dishwasher:
+ door open a little - little green “Clean” light is “On” (normal)
+ close door - little green light goes “Off” (normal)
+ push “Time Saver” button
- “Time Saver” light comes “On” (normal)
- washer starts right up (never pushed the “Start” button - not
normal!!)
- “Sensing” light comes on (normal after “Start” button pushed)
- display shows “J" instead of the normal “40”
* the "” doesn’t look like the horizontal segment in a “4”
* the “J” could be 3 segments of a “0”.
- “Cancel” doesn’t work
- “Start” button does nothing
+ After the washing cycle started, the “_J” turned into two vertical bars
- one bar on the lower left that could be part of “0”
- one bar on the upper right the could be part of “0” or “1”
+ When the washing cycle was done, the display changed to a single
vertical bar on the upper left.
+ washer appears to work normally. Had almost no dishes in it because
of testing - the washing cycle sounded normal but the drain cycle
might sound different - the washer was drained when it was all over.
The “Clean” light was “On” like normal.
Both the “Start” and the “Cancel” buttons have the normal tactile feedback.
At the beginning of the running, I opened the circuit breaker, waited a minute, and close it. The washer resumed its work from where it left off.
I assume that the problem can not be in the “Dual Digit Display” because that would not cause the skipping of the “Start” button and the “Cancel” to not work. But is it the “Console Assembly” or the “Electronic Control”. Please help.
