Compressor Relay Arrangement

I Bought A Relay For The Compressor Motor.
There Are Three Pins On The Side Of The Compressor Where The Relay Wires Attach To. There Is One Pi On The Top And Two More On The Bottom. All Three Are In The Shape Of A Triangle.the Relay Itself Has Five Wires Coming Out Of It.two Black Ones On The Top Which I Figure Attach To The Power.the Other Three Wires Are
Red For :run
White For :start
Black For :common

Which Wire Goes To Which Pin ?

Hi,

See if this helps,

Repair Guide: How to replace a refrigerator - freezer compressor start relay

The top pin is your common pin. You will need a meter to see which pin is start winding and run winding. The start winding pin ALWAYS has the HIGHEST resistance, the run winding pin has the lowest as measured from the common pin.
It is NEVER recommended to use a substitute start relay, always use the factory specified part.
Your replacement part will not adequately protect your compressor by limiting the duration of an overload inrush current. Also it will not shut down the compressor on a thermal overload.
I must admit I have used these “universal” kits before as it is almost impossible to stock all the different ones I would need.
A final note, if you fail to wire in the run capacitor, your compressor will eventually fail.
