I have a Frigidaire 4.4 cu/ft fridge that only runs very cold all the time. It’s 4 years old. The temp sits around 18-22f. I’ve tried in vain to locate a replacement thermostat or control. The parts are not available. Is there a generic part that might work, or a workaround someone can advise me of?
If the cold control will not turn off when you turn it up all the way, it’s shorted. You can install a universal, ambient controller AP3512625
The sensing wire for this gets routed in the general control panel area and not in the fridg vent area.
richappy: Thanks for replying. Would the short occur within the switch, or does it have something to do with the sensor which is mounted in the freezer section? I ask because I rebuild potentiometers and the like in old audio equipment and would have a go at it if I had some idea of it’s internal workings. thermostat.jpg (11.6 KB) insideview.jpg (26.7 KB)
I’d love to get a new one but the manufacturer doesn’t sell parts for compact units. They simply replace the entire fridge if it’s within the warranty period.
11 years later and I also have the same model and problem. Bought fridge for $50 and it only freezes. Thermostat part # WSF33T-921-016 0704.S6781B.U This goes into a Fridgedare/Electrolux mini-fridge FRC05L5DM0
