Clothes smells funny

I have a Whirlpool Duet HT GHW9300PW4 and after the cycle is done the clothes smell like a metallic smell. There is no discoloration of the clothes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Front loaders often have mildew/mold problems.
I have never heard it described as a metallic smell but different people describe things differently.

If you have a water softener it may be the problem.

Could also be a problem with the scavenger rod in your hot water tank.
Or even a change in the water quality.
