I have successfully replaced the bellow on my Whirlpool Duet WFW9200SQ washer, but the inner clamp keeps slipping off after several washes. No problems with the outer spring clamp. The last time I had to reattach the new bellow, I carefully checked to make sure the bellow was properly seated and the clamp was tight. Any suggestions to prevent the inner clamp from slipping off?
Have you looked at the AppliancePartsPros video about replacing this part?
It may be worth a look.
Looking at the part is looks like the bellows has ridges on either side of the clamp so I am assuming that it is the bellows itself that slips off the tub.
I would try cleaning the inside sealing part of the bellows and the tub where the bellows seats with isopropyl alcohol.
Do this several times to ensure that there is no residue on either part.
The above is just a guess as this has never happened to me.
Check the clamp, could be that it is loosening.
Perhaps mark it with black felt pen so that if it does come off again you will be able to see that it did indeed loosen up.
