How do you check to see if a 4-wire thermostat is causing your dryer to prematurely shut off using a multi-meter? 2-wire stats are easy, just do not know how to do the same for the 4-wire ones… THANKS!!!
Two of the wires will be the contacts.
The other two go to an internal heater that is used to add heat into the thermostat and this then reduces the run time/cycle of the main heater, re: different heat settings.
Finding info on GE’s is a pain but usually they are up around 5,000 to 10,000 ohms.
