How can I tell if full charge level has been obtained?
You need pressure gauges to properly charge a fridg. Alos, why do you think it is low on refrigerant?
Suspected lo-charge condition due to extended run time .no hi-side or lo side service fittings on unit, just one fitting sticking out of compressor hsg.do not have charge station or scale at my disposal.
Pull off the freezer back panel and check the frost pattern, partial frost, or total, heavy frost.
Partial frost only at this time.have been experiencing chronic frosting over from faulty defroster system.suspect chip board to be culprit, also, icing from ice maker has been a common occurrence.frost preventing proper air flo and ice obstructing evap fan operation.
This time is different however.higher than normal monthly electric consumption from this appliance-again.
You can re-charge the system by charging till the evaporator is fully covered with light frost, just make sure you purge all the air out of the charging hoses and verify nofrost is backing up into the compressor on the low side. Be aware, your compressor may be damaged by ingestion of noncompressables.

Yea,yea, that seem to work out ok.thanks.how often should self defroster system activate? Do you have any insight into ice maker water leak creating stellagtites?
Really don’t wanna invest in this appliance as any investment would be better directed toward unit replacement due to build up of issues.does any manufacturer produce a unit that won’t require what seems like constant attention?with what this thing cost in electricity alone would have paid for reoplacement.
Best to buy either a GE or Whirlpool fridg without electronics.
