The water filter base on my refrigerator broke adn I am trying to change it. I have the new part, taken everything apart, except the water lines. How do they come apart. I have tried pulling, prying, twisting to no avail. The new base has the blue caps that are currently on the water lines.
try pushing in the valves gently with a pencil erasure head. The valves are where the filter seats on. Be gentle those tiny plastic tips are fragile. You might have to do both at the same time. Let me know how u made out.
I assume you have already expose the filter base. It is close to impossible to pull the tubes out. I cut them very close to the blue cap - make sure the cut is straight - and remove the base. Now, when reinstalling and to make sure the tubes are back in place correctly using a pen draw a mark about 1.5 cm from the tip of the tube. That is how much will be into the new base once installed. Put everything together. Caution - if you do not put the tubes all the way into the new base you will have a leak.
