I Recently Purchased This Washer From Co-worker.didn’t Pay Much. Every Thing Work Fine When First Turned On For A Minute Are Two. After Machine Filled I Smelled Somthing Burnig.turned Out To Be Capacitor. Motor Spends Fine Nut Capacitor Gets Very Hot To The Point Of Burning Up. Tried New Capacitor Same Result. What Could The Problem Be Bad Motor Are Maybe Loose Connection Are Maybe Even Switch On Motor Need Help
Most likely, either the start winding contacts in the motor switch are welded shut or the centrifugal mechanism in the motor that operates the switch is not working. You can remove the screw holding the switch to the motor and pull the switch away from the motor and remove the cover to the switch to inspect the contacts. It is the single pole contacts in the switch that are for the start winding. Normally, once the motor gets up to speed, the centrifugal mechanism releases pressure on the switch lever allowing the start winding contacts to open. They must open as leaving power applied to the capacitor and start windings can damage both. There is a replacement switch available if needed.
