Can't install inner tub onto drive shaft

Wirlpool Cabrio Top Loader

I had to remove the inner “spinning” basket. Now I am trying to install it back but I am not able to get it more than halfway down the drive shaft. When I put pressure on the tub, it just sways on the suspension rods.

Should it be this hard?

Solved: I applied WD40 to shaft and tube of the tub and pressed down real hard. I blocked the bottom of the shaft to take the weight off of the suspension rods.
