Can't get it started, start light blinks

I just bought this used machine ($175.00) a week ago. Ir ran good, but the door would pop open before it was finished. It now has about an inch of drain water standing inside. I have locked and unlocked the control panel and tried different settings to no avail. The start button comes on and then starts blinking. It does nothing. It works as well as the guy answering his phone from whom I purchased-nothing. Thanks for your time. I will continue calling and leaving messages to him, I am hoping this problem won’t be too severe. Can you steer me in the right direction?

Make sure the dishwasher is leveled properly (The installation instructions, page 17-18). If not, it can cause the door to pop open, and release from the latch.

I have repaired the door latch, an adjustment of the lock plate. Now I can’t get it to start.

Gene, is there a sequence on the control panel you must follow to get this machine started/unlocked? The control panel locked light is not on. Machine is unresponsive.
