Can’t find infinite control part for electric GE stove top

GE
Wb23m1 - part number for 8 inch burner
JP326BV2BB- model built in cook top

I have replaced one of the infinite controls a feed years back, but now it says this part has been discontinued. They have all kinds of different ones but can’t find an updated part number for my specific control.

When the burner is turned on to low or med, it goes directly to full blast high turning red hot.

Can someone please advise where to find the replacement? Tks

Hi,

Only things that I can think of is to maybe get a used one on Ebay or use a new switch but transfer over the metal parts from your old switch to the new switch. The body and electrical part should be exactly the same.

LINK> A very simular switch is linked here.

I have looked as well for a substitute part, but the manufacturer is not providing any information as to a replacement

Sometimes you do what you have to do to make it work…Good Luck

Ok thanks for the help

Ok will do Tks if I can fix it

Part numbers WB24T10025 = Wb23m1

I have an 18 year old GE Proflie countertop stove. My 8 inch coil would go full open to high on medium heat. I changed out an infinite control for the same reason in 2018. So I searched for the correct part wb23m1 this time and it’s no longer in production. I scoured the internet all sold out. I saw a video that most of these GE infinite controls are similar on the interior of the mechanism. The only difference is usually the shaft that holds the knob and/or the silver plate holding on to the white plastic mechanism. I was stuck, I would have to buy a new stove top because of one simple part. I said no, so ended up purchasing this item which would not have worked only due to the shaft and steel plate. I took off old control, pried off silver plate with shaft, then took off new control shaft and plate. I put the old shaft and plate on the new white plastic container holding the mechanism. Reinstalled and works like a charm. So if you are in a pinch and the part is no longer available. Try this.

Thankx for the update.
