I have a GE side by side in a rental unit. Tenant decided to take the doors off to move it and instead of disconnecting the line to the water dispenser at the quick connect he just cut the line leaving only 1" protuding from the bottom of the door as illustrated by the red line in the diagram. There is just enough line protruding to get a quick connect coupler on but I’m not sure it is on far enough to hold. I would prefer to replace the cut water line but haven’t been able to find a way to access the other end of the line at the water dispenser to pull a new line through. I’ve removed everything from the front panel that looks to be removable. Does the spigot screw out or something so I can get to the water line or is there no way to replace it?
If I need to remove the panel inside the door to access the hose, please explain how to do that. I removed the gasket from the door but the panell is not screwed on. The door cavity seems to be filled with styrofoam. If I look thru the bottom of the door where the water line goes thrun the door, there appears to be a tube the the water line runs through I asume to isolate it from the sprayed in foam.
Thank you for any assistance.
