Bypass thermal fuse/thermsotat (no heat)

Can I bypass the thermal cut offs/fuses if I discover one of them are bad tonight?

I opened up the dryer last night but didn’t have my DVM with me. I cleaned it out and visually checked/reseated all connections and components. They all look good so tonight I’ll check voltages and continuity.

Can these components be temporarily bypassed till the parts come in?

anyone?

Since I posted this I troubleshot it down to the high cutoff being bad (open).

On the heater assembly there are 2 thermostats. one down by the coil connections and another higher up on the housing. Is the top one the high cutoff because thats the one thats bad? I ordered the kit so it will come with both so either way I’m covered.

I checked everything else out and the only thing I found was a mound of lint built up at the bottom of the vent down by the fan. It was a pile big enough that it would fill both my hands if I cupped them togethor. Could that have caused the thermostat to blow?
