Burning wiring connected to heating element

Main Symptom: Burnt wire
What happens & when: Top wire connecting heating element to thermostat has burned out again within a month +.had replaced the heating element and the 2 other attachments last August. Wire gave out after 1 year warranty, replaced another wire and just burnt out again

Hello, make sure to use the proper gauge wire and terminals if you are replacing just the wire. If you are replacing the entire harness, there is something going on with the voltage. Check the voltage with the dryer running at the terminal block to make sure proper voltage is present

sorry I phrased that second part a bit wrong, I only replaced the wire that burnt out that connects to the thermostat with another wire that had came with the kit for the heating element. Not sure what gauge the wire was. Iv been told to use 10 gauge and something about converting it to a bolted joint with a spring terminal. Any guidance on that?

You really should use the proper gauge and the terminals that match what came off of the old one. I am not familiar with a bolted joint with a spring terminal.

Ok, I’m not sure what was from the original heating element from when it broke but I used what was given from the replacement. Any references to what I should be using ?
