Burning plastic smell from gas range

For about 2 weeks we’ve noticed a smell like burning plastic any time we use any burner or the oven on our gas range. It does not burn off. There were no spills and we haven’t used any new cleaners. I ran the self clean function and the smell remains. We thought that perhaps it was in the gas line so we called the gas company. They found nothing wrong and no leaks. All of the functions of the range continue to work well. Any thoughts? Thanks, Mel

No ideas so far. Try to pinpoint that smell.

I have a new maytag oven and have had burning plastic smell when I use my oven. the service guy came out and called maytag. They think it is the sprayed in insulation between the walls of the oven and suggested I use the self clean cycle to heat up the oven and shrink the insulation. It smells very toxic and they have had this occur with other ovens. Suggested running the clean cycle on the oven with the windows open.
First complaint for my new range.
