Burning & grinding during presoak - Maytag

I am have a problem with my washing machine. It makes an awful grinding noise and emits a burning smell each time that we have a load in during presoak only. Also, it only makes the grind noise and smell when it has a medium to large load in it.

Can anyone help me to pinpoint the problem.

Remove the front panel by removing the screw on each side on the bottom of the front panel, lift up the washer from the front and check both belts.
