Pardon me if this is redundant. I tried to submit it previously, but it appeared something went wrong. Top large front burner receptacle on cook top has disentegrated. I am trying to repair. Research led me to top burner receptacle kit # AP0375808. However the illustration of this kit is not the same as the part that I have removed. The receptacle that I removed appears to be a solid piece of plastic with the wires and metal connection embedded in the black plastic housing. At the other end of the wires are terminals that go through a porcelin insulator and plug into the back of the stove. The wires are 13 and a half and 12 inches respectively. The other dissimilarity is the burners themselves. I have an 8 inch and 4 inch burner in this cooktop and the cooktop displayed in the parts illustration reflects a 8 and 6 inch burner. Can you assure me that the aforementioned kit is an appropriate replacement item to repair this cooktop or can you get me on the right path for a replacement burner receptacle for this cooktop. FredH
The kit is the correct replacement and is designed as a generic kit to cover many makes and models of cook tops. If yours has coil elements, this will work. The wires will slide into the new plastic insulators and you will cut your old connector off. The use the enclosed wire nuts and heat shrink to connect the new connector to the existing wires harness. Just make sure the ends of your elements are not burned and are still in good shape.
