It is unlikely for both of the elements or both of the infinite switches, or a combination of elements and switches, to go out at the same time. I suspect a damaged wire. There should be a brown wire at the terminal block that connects to the right side cartridge that holds the elements. That is your common L1 wire from the infinite switches. If you’re comfortable testing voltage, disconnect that terminal block from the cartridge, turn on one of those switches, and check from that brown wire at the terminal block to a bare metal contact point on the cooktop. Should read about 120v AC. You can also check that brown wire to yellow for 240v AC if the right front element switch is the one that is on, or brown to violet for 240v AC if it is the right rear switch.
If that brown wire isn’t reading 120v to ground/bare metal then most likely that wire is damaged. You can verify that at the switches just to be sure, same check, brown to ground/bare metal at each of those switches should read 120v AC. If voltage is present at the switch but not the terminal block then the wire is bad.
Do you think its the infinite switches or the wire first? I cant get this glass top removed only lifted because there is a screw at one end i dont know how to reach
Like I said, it is very unlikely to be the infinite switches or the elements because that would mean at least 2 components went out at the same time. I’d suspect that wire.
Is there a way to take out the cartridge? It looks like a screw holds it in on the opposite of where you lift it up. Or is it just supposed to be pulled? Do you have any videos on how to test the brown wire
I took off the switch that turns on the burner while the burner was on because the light was red and then when I put the burner switch back onto the infinite switch, the red light turned off as if the burner was off. I’m not sure what that can be.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to as the burner switch if you put it back onto the infinite switch, the burner switch and infinite switch should be the same thing.
