Unplug and remove the ice maker from the refrigerator. Start the refrigerator back up without the ice maker and let it run 24 to 48 hours to see if it starts cooling again. If the refrigerator does start cooling again, the issue is likely the ice maker and would need to be replaced.
I already removed the ice maker because it was damaged anyway. Your suggestion is the following, run the refrigerator 24 to 48 hrs. without the ice maker. If it does not start cooling is because it does not have a good ice maker installed.
Do you think the ice maker is an integral part for the refrigerator to cool?
Would you have any idea the reason the ice maker got burned?
I would do as you suggested and would order an ice maker any way. I would let you know.
If the ice maker is removed and there is no other visable damage, it should go back to cooling without issue. If it does not start back cooling with the ice maker removed, there is another issue. I would let it run 24 to 48 hours to ensure the refrigerator is cooling properly without the ice maker. The ice maker should not affect the cooling unless it is still in there and hung up with the heater in the icemaker left on.
