I recentely changed the electronic control board on my oven; no problems, ovens are working fine. On Sunday, the upper oven was in self cleaning mode when a PF error message appeared; the oven locked itself until the timer cleared. We used the oven for cooking that night with no problems. On Monday, when attempting to initiate the bake sequence on the upper oven, the temperature appeared as 350 F and the time appeared as 6:30; shortly thereafter, the control board beeped and flashed, and the PF error appeared. I tried to reset the oven and clock numerous times, but the same error continued. I was able to use the lower oven without any problems. Please advise as to how I should proceed with my trouble shooting. Thanks.
Most likely the control board has gone bad due to a manufacturer defect. Try to exchange it under the part warranty.

Gene,
I have updated information; my wife never used the upper oven after the PF during the self cleaning. When checking the upper oven controls of bake, broil, or clean, an immediate PF message appears. All controls on the lower oven appear to be OK. Might I have a faulty shutdown thermal fuse? If so, how do I check it and/or replace it? Please advise. thanks.
A faulty shutdown thermal fuse does not create any error codes. The “PF” error code means a power failure to the Control Board and not to the oven. I still believe the control board is the culprit. You have to talk to people who sold it to you.

Gene,
I purchased the new board from Appliance Parts Pros in August of this year. I have contacted their warranty department about a replacement. They are shipping one out tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get the upper oven working before the holidays. Thanks for the help. Happy holidays.
Mike
You are welcome Mike. Happy Holidays to you as well. Keep us posted.

Gene,
Just received the new control board; when installing the last one, I had a problem with programming the cavity size. Step 4 in the tech sheet says to press CANCEL; there is no cancel button on the control board. Any thoughts.
Thanks,
Mike
Mike,
Your oven is 30" width and this size (step 2 - Size is shown in display - “id 30”) is preset in the control board. You do not have to program it. Otherwise the “upper off” button should be used.
