We were cooking dinner and our oven made a loud popping noise and there was a spark as well. It no longer heats, and the control panel does not work at all. How can we figure out which parts we need to replace?
Try and locate any burnt wires or connections throughout the unit. You will have to dismantle the whole machine to make sure you find the source of the problem. Also check your voltage at the wall receptacle you may have an electrical issue in your house that caused it.

Depends where your spark came from.
If it was in the oven:
Unplug the unit.
Check the elements in the oven.
Often when they blow you will be able to see/feel where.
The element coating will bulge/blow out.
If it is an element it will have to be replaced.
Then check the voltage at the receptacle.
It should be L1 to Neutral 120 volts, L2 to Neutral 120 volts and L1 to L2 240 volts.
If the voltage is OK then you will probably also need a control board.
When you get a spark it often blows the electronics on the board.
You may also need an overlay for the control.
Usually these are peel and stick and sometimes do not come off without damaging them.
Warming up the face of the control assembly with a hair dryer should help you get it off.
