Broken cam should I replace the whole assembly

Main Symptom: broken cam
What happens & when: cam prevents the wash from running because broken.

I have a broken cam ordered replacement part. In the mean time I confirmed the switch mechanism can be manually activated via activation with screw driver but concerned that w plunger won’t activate the switch properly after replacement any advice would be appreciated

If the cam is broken then it should just need to be replaced and would not need any other parts.
