Broiler Element Replacement

I am a home owner who has never serviced his own appliances. I have a broiler element which is not getting hot, while the oven bake element is. Is it definately the element..and if so, am I capable of removing the old and replacing it myself ? I see the screws that are holding in place into the roof of the oven space..but then the legs of the element disappear into the back wall (???) Thanks in advance for your assistance. Layed off because my job was moved overseas and trying to save my family $$$. :slight_smile:

A couple thinks to watch out for:

  1. Be sure to unplug the unit
  2. Gently pull it forward so you do not pull the wires off the element.
  3. Clip something onto the wires (clothes pin etc.) so they do not pull back into the unit until you have the new element connected.
