Breaker trip before spin cycle, spin not working

Washing machine ( FRIGIDAIRE FWSB6600FS0 Frigidaire/washer)

Stops and trips breaker before spin cycle, after resetting the breaker the spin cycle will not work.

!!!updated below!!!

also just tested and when manual moved will start to spin? seems very odd?

Check the current drawn by the motor when it goes on spin. If it’s more than it’s written on the motor label, replace the motor.

If it’s not, then the problem most likely is a bad timer.

thanks i will check, also it seems to be operating fine when run with nothing in it? does a complete cycle when empty…i am a bout to open it up now and see!

good news, no longer tripping breaker, agitating fine…just no spin at all now, not even with a little push, thinking i way have over tightened something , i did hit the the transmission and pieces that are supposed to move with some wd 40 to make sure they where not stuck …i guess i am off to a hardware store to get a oem meter…

It’s a good idea. You can check the motor and the timer, using the wiring diagram.
