Bottom sprayer will not spin

The bottom sprayer was clogged with hard water deposits but after cleaning them and then running the machine with CLR, it still doesn’t spin. What would be the next step to try to fix this? How exactly do I remove the sprayer and with which tools? Thanks.

Sorry cannot find any info on the given model number. Looking at other GSD680’s it does look like a standard older GSE set up.

I am assuming that it sounds and runs like everything is OK just no spraying.
Also that the wash/spray solenoid (Under the unit left hand side works OK.

Also check in the sump for debris or something wrapped around the chopper. Be careful often there is broken glass in the sump.

A common problem is the unit not filling with enough water.
Most units fill to just under the heating element.
This can be checked by adding a couple quarts of water after each fill during a cycle. If it now washes OK then check the fill valve.
Just be careful to not overfill it.
Often if the fill is low you will also hear a growling sound because the pump will cavitate (suck in air).
The most common cause is a dirty screen filter on the input side of the fill calve. Remove the valve from the unit and clean/check the filter.
Do not permanently remove it from the valve as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood.

Thanks for your reply. The sprayer does spray but, it does not spin. Could it be that it is just not enough water pressure to make it turn? What could cause this? I removed the sprayer and cleaned out the hard water deposits but it didn’t help. I also ran a couple loads with CLR to no avail. Do you think replacing the sprayer would solve the problem or could it be something else? Thank you for your help.
