There are two screws that secure the bottom hinge pin and cam assembley bracket to the frame of the fridge. The top screw worked it’s way out and I have now realized that it is stripped (not the screw, but I’m assuming behind the metal frame where it screws in to). I now have to prop a piece of wood under the bracket to keep the door in place. Is there any fix for this? Thanks for any help!
The below are possibilities depending how the plate is put together.
-
Re-tap the receiver plate and then use a different bolt. You may have to drill out the hinge plate so the new bolt fits.
-
If the bolt threads are long enough get a nut and if you can reach in place it on the inside and use it to tighten up the bolt. If the threads do not extend far enough you may have to get a longer bolt.

Thank-you, I will try that. I had a repairman out and he said there was no fix but I got the feeling there was, just that it was out of the ordinary “easy fix” and he wasn’t interested.
