Bosch SHE8ER55UC/01 soap dispenser does not pop open

Brand: Bosch
Model Number: SHE8ER55UC/01
Main Symptom: Soap Dispenser does not open
What happens & when:

Error Code (if any): n/a

Parts or tests already tried:
The soap dispenser closes as normal, clicking into place. Pressing the button to open it pops open as normal. There does not appear to be any buildup inside that might stick it in place. It just doesn’t open during the cycle. The soap pod is still inside and dry as a bone.

I’ve found a few articles on here about "resetting’ the cycle, and this dishwasher does not seem to follow that. For example, open door at 15 minutes, power off, wait, power on, close door; makes no difference.

Something else mentioned the child lock. My manual says nothing about a child lock, but curiously there’s a “Child Lock” label/icon on the front panel, right above the button for “Heavy” wash cycle, but there’s no indicator whether child lock is on or off. And I’m not sure why a child lock would deal with the soap dispenser, so this may be a red herring.

Searching online brings me back to this part: Bosch 00645208 Detergent and Rinse Aid Dispenser (AP4355372) - AppliancePartsPros.com. Is that the right thing?

But how do I know I need this? Just concerned I spend money on this, wait for it to arrive, and then that’s not the problem.

Photos / video link:

There is usually a solenoid inside the dispenser that is activated to open the soap door. They are known for failing. As far as the part being for your model, I could not find any parts for yopur specific model.

How does the dispenser unit come out? I don’t see any screws. Not sure if it pops out, and if so where/how to pull on it, or do I have to disassemble the whole door to get at it from the other side?

Ah… I found the related video. TIA
