Are there any clogs and does the dishwasher drain regardless of the error code occurring?

No clogs near impeller, disconnected and flushed drain hose, does work intermittently with normal operation then the next cycle shuts down with error code. Once the error code appears it does not drain. I pumped the water out with a wet vacc, shut off at the breaker and restarted the dishwasher and it rain for one cycle normally. Then the error recurred. New bosch drain pump installed, ran normally for two cycles then the error 24 recurred and cycle stopped.

Based on that information, it sounds like the issue is in the power control module. If there is not a clog, including at the sink, and power cycling gets the dishwasher to operate for a little bit, it points to an electronic failure rather than a mechanical failure. 12010638 Power Module Programmed | Genuine Bosch OEM In Stock

The new power control module arrived today. I pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet and installed it and the dishwasher again had the e24 a short way into the cycle. Remember it also has a new drain pump. This is extremely frustrating to say the least. What do I check now?

The only thing I can suggest is double check the hoses, the hose connection points, wires, and ensure there are no kinks, clogs, or loose wire connections.

I did disconnect hoses and drain prior to ordering pump. it had been an intermittent problem so perhaps I wasnt as vigilant about checking entire hose for clogs. I did feel the check valve area and there were no obstructions. Can I use a vet vac both ways to flush/ pull water through? Is it possible to pass a plastic fish tape through without causing damage or hanging up in a check valve?

Using a wet/dry vac at the sink connection is a good start — it can confirm that water can move through the hose. That said, it won’t always tell you whether the hose is partially restricted.

If it were me, I’d do it this way for peace of mind:

  • Use the wet vac at the sink end to pull out as much water as possible.

  • Then disconnect the drain hose from the dishwasher and make sure it’s completely clear, end to end.

  • Do the same check on the high loop on the right side of the dishwasher, since clogs can hide there too.

  • Finally, double-check the connection at the sink or garbage disposal, especially if a new disposal was recently installed — that’s a very common spot for blockages or missed knockout plugs.
