Less than 2 year old Whirlpool Quiet Partner II dishwasher; this weekend the pot and pans lights started flashing while the start and cancel button will not respond. Turning the breaker off and then back on does not correct the problem.
From reading answers to other postings, blinking LED lights on the control panel means shorted circuits in the keypad on in the control input lines that read the keys, correct?

Hello.
You are right- the control panel is bad. There are two part numbers (depends on color).
The control panel AP6008254
The control panel AP6008255
I’m sorry that your question wasn’t answered on time. Although, it’s probably too late to help you, I’m posting the answer anyway, so that it may help other people with a similar problem.
Thank you.
[LEFT][COLOR=#000000]Had the same thing. Flashing start button. Turned off the power. Took off the inside panel on the door. Removed the touchpad ribbon cable from the control board. The problem was the broken traces on the ribbon cable. So I went to the automotive store and asked for the kit that repairs the rear defroster grid. It has a paint in there that is conductive. I saw where the traces where broken so I used a really sharp exacto blade (you should consider sand paper) to remove the covering so that it exposes the metal trace. Than I painted the line with a toothpick to make sure it connected the trace. Covered most of the area with plastic and tape so it is not exposed. Turned on the power. Brilliant!!! It worked like a charm and I saved myself $150.

Thank you for the input. You are very handy indeed.
BEFORE you buy another control panel…try cleaning the existing one with rubbing alcohol or contact cleaner. I had the same problem with mine. I disconnected the control board from the inside of the control panel and dowsed it with contact cleaner on the mother board/connecter pins and rubbed alcohol on with cotton or paper towel. I dried it off with paper towel and it’s working now.
