Hello- the timer knob on my Maytag washer LAT9206BAE has quit letting me push it in or out to set the wash cycle. It just spins. I can still turn the base and set it, and it still runs fine. Could someone tell me what parts I need to get for this repair, where to find instructions for the repair, and any tips if needed would be appreciated (my husband or dad will fix it, I just need to do the research and running around parts ). Oh, and I also need the actual plastic knob guts (don’t ask…lol)…
If you will click on your model number you will be taken to exploded views of your machine. Look at the control panel pictures and you can see your parts. Sounds like your timer is ok, you just need a new knob and other parts.
Here is a service manual for your machine. Don’t show it to your husband or Dad, make them take directions from you. Even better, memorize how to remove the knob and then supervise them while they do the work.
