I got this washing machine used 5 years ago and it has worked great until recently. A previous problem is that one of the springs was loose and it would bang violently in spin cycle. The problem now is that it stops running just before water fill on rinse cycle (when it does quit… most of the time). At other times it will go through fill cycle then quit before pumping out. My thoughts are that something may be causing the motor to overheat and the thermal protection kicking off the motor BUT I can reset the timer dial, turn it at or about the same position it quit and it will go back to running as if no problem. Occasionally it will actually go through a complete wash without problems. Dirty contacts in timer? Bad motor? Bad pump? Something stupid I ain’t figured out yet?.. I do a lot of things but I’m not an appliance repair guy.

That’s not the model number. Should be a label on the machine somewhere, usually under the lid, with model number and serial number.
