arg7302ww amana, range top and broiler work, oven igniter lights up, no gas.?

I had a simular problem with an Amana ARG7200W/P1143316NW. Traced the problem to a gas control valve that is controled by the oven/broiler thermostat. The control valve has a seperate control for the oven and broiler. In my case the broiler worked but the oven didn’t. Replaced the valve and the unit now functions properly.

On my stove I have a drawer under the oven, removing the drawer gave me access to the valve. It was loacated on the left side (looking at stove) under a piece of sheet metal. It’s a bit tight in there but doable. Be sure to unplug the stove and turn off the gas before attempting the replacement.

In such situation I would suspect the Bake igniter rather than the gas valve. If it glows but does not drawn enough current to open the gas valve then the igniter has to be replaced. The best thing you can do is measure the current drawn by the igniter and if the reading is 3.2 amps or less then the igniter is bad.

I have a Amana ACF3315A with same issue. Oven will not heat, Burners/Broiler work fine. Do I need to ghange the igniter?

Sorry for the delay. Bad igniter is most common problem for all gas ovens, but it’s always better to perform a simple troubleshooting to prevent unneeded spendings.

Does the Bake igniter glow when the control calls for Bake?

If it does, then most likely the igniter become weak and not able to open the gas valve.

If it does not, then you have to check the igniter for continuity and make sure there is proper (120 VAC) voltage is coming to the igniter.

Thanks . The information, that just because the oven ignitor glows does not necessarily mean it’s working. I was able to swap my broiler ignitor with my bake ignitor to determine the bake ignitor wasn’t working. Happily, we had the use of the bake section until our replacement part arrived.
