my oven will not get hot. i just replaced the
bake element part no. 74010883. i was wondering
what else could be wrong?.. when i turn the oven on
i get no error codes or anything it just starts off at
100 degrees for the preheat but the temp never goes up
and the lower bake element never gets hot .(even the new one)
any help would be greatly appreciated

also i have made sure that it is not on bake delay

Did you check the element before replacing it or did you just replace it as the most likely cause?
You did not say if the stove top elements are working OK.
If not you probably have a power problem.

By nothing do you mean 0 ohms or infinite ohms?
Also what meter scale were you using? You should use 2,000 ohms or higher to check it.
The unit does have a hi-limit thermostat perhaps this is toast.
Unplug the unit and one side of the hi-limit thermostat and check it.
Should be 0 ohms.
On the below readings did you remove the wires from at least one side of the device you were measuring. This ensures that you do not read an alternate/parallel circuit path

This is weird as it is low but I have never seen an element drop this low.
It is basically just a ni-chrome wire in ceramic so it is very hard for it to short out partially.

When checking for 0 ohms it is alwauys a good idea to use your most sensitive scale.
yes i removed one wire or the entire unit when testing…
i do not know much about electric ranges but i thought that it was
odd for the bake element to read 7 from all the info i have read online.
that is why i replaced this first.. i know its uncommon but it could happen
,which i believe happened here, is that the bake element and the temp sensor
both went at the same time. i am waiting for the temp sensor to come in today.. unfortunately where i live , no stores ever have anything instock and need to order the items.
