My dryer suddenly stopped heating the clothes as it dries; everything else works fine. I’m new to appliance repair, but I’ve done my best to test several things already:
- Checked dryer vents and hoses- clear
- Checked heating element - has continuity (I purchased a multimeters and learned how to use the tone function to test continuity, but that’s pretty much all I know about it.)
- I also tested thermostats 2&3 for continuity - working.
Here’s where I started having trouble. I’ve been looking at threads on this forum and found out that there is another thermostat and a thermester(?) that are located together in the same plastic housing. I tested those fuses for continuity and neither gave off a tone and the reading stayed at 1. Does that mean that they are both broken? Or could something be broken that controls them together?
Also I don’t know where to find the timer, and one of the threads talked about a timer being the issue.
Thanks for any and all help!
