When in spin cycle the agitator won’t spin, I can hear the motor working but it sounds like something is not grabbing. I bought new agitator dogs to replace them. I took the white cap off and un did the bolt and took the agitator off. Now I see the metal gear in the bowl but where are the agitator dogs located?

If you are talking about the agitator staying still while the washer’s clothes basket is spinning, and if it is making a kind of rrriittt, rrriittt, rrriittt noise while doing it? Then its most likely a problem in your gearcase.
