Adjustment screw on GE Icemaker what is it for?

On the left side of the ice maker there is a adjustment screw (behind a small plastic cap) it has (when the cover is removed for the motor) just a +/-. I was hoping someone would explain what its for.

If i could see a difference when it is all + and all - but I dont.
