Accessing siphon break for replacement

I have a Maytag LA612 Series 02 and the siphon break that projects out from the back of the machine was broken off when moving. I have ordered the replacement part, but wonder about how difficult it is to access the part for replacement. Do I have to take off the entire “skin” of the machine? There are four hex nuts surrounding the siphon break part, but that just seems to hold it in place. There is a large circular opening about a foot down the back - does that allow access inside to make the replacement?

Any helpful hints about accessing and replacing this part would be helpful!

Have the same problem. We’re you able to install it? If so, how?

On this model there are two screws on the front panel. you’ll have to remove those, the front panel will then pull out from the bottom and pivot on the top clips. just pull out and down on front panel. Once the front panel is removed there are two 3/8" head screws holding the top panel to the cabinet, remove those, and the bleach hose, now the top of the cabinet should be free. Tilt top of cabinet up (careful to secure the lid from flopping back and hitting something), now you should have plenty of room to work on the siphon/water valve/etc.

make sure when you put it back together you put the bleach hose back on. If you don’t it will leak.

Hope this helps.
