I can’t get the lower front panel loose. There are two clips on the bottom of the panel, but I can’t get them loose.
In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model number of the dryer.

this dryer is a kitchen aid, 12+ years old, mod # keyw777bwh2.
Using a putty knife, push the spring retainer (#43 on the cabinet parts break down diagram) on each side of the bottom panel in and down to release it.

Thx, I’ll give it a try.
Here’s some more info on the problem. The dryer will turn on after about two or three hours after it quits. It will run for about three or four minutes, then start to click and then turn off. The drum will turn by hand when the dryer is off and doesn’t sound bad or feel difficult to turn. Any ideas as to what is wrong or what to look at? Could there be a faulty overload or thermal switch? Appreciate any comments.
Sounds like the motor gone bad.

Today, I opened the lower front panel, looked at the rollers and drive belt, they all appear to be ok. I turned the time on to 20 minutes and closed the door and the ddryer started without pushing the start button. It ran for the full 20 minutes. When I opened the door while it was running, it stopped, when I closed the door, it started again without pushing the start button. I tried to hold the drum and closed the door. The dryed tried to start for a few seconds and then the motor shutdown and wouldn’t start again for a few minutes with the door closed, then it started all by itself. Still think its the motor? Would I get open circuit readings on the ohm meter if the motor is bad?
Now it looks like there are two problems: the start switch and the motor.

Do we have to remove the drum to get the motor out? Looks like the top panel and the the control panel all have to come out.
Another thing I noticed was the front seal bearing has about a 1/2 inch play in it . Is this ok or should it be replaced also?

Hi Ted,
Looks like the model number of your dryer is Canadian.
If it is then we are not able to get any information.
It this is not a Canadian model number then I need you to verify and repost it.
