I don’t have the model number, but the motor number is 8529935. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is a 2 0r 3 speed motor? Can’t seem to find anyone that knows.

If the motor has a small 2 wire connector down near the capacitor its a 3spd. if it only has the long connector at the side of the motor and 2 red wires to the Cap its a 2 spd!!!

Actually, ther are a few 3-speed motors without the 2-wire connector. The white-orange and white-violet wires are connected to the main connector instead. The common must be connected directly to the protector. These motors are wired up in an unusual way.
All 2-speed (Whirlpool direct drive) motors I’ve seen have a violet-white wire, but no white-orange or white-violet wires. 1-speed motors are the same as 2-speed but without the violet-white wire.
