Brand:Whirlpool
Model Number:WRF535SWHB08
Main Symptom: fridge temp fluctuating
**What happens & when:**Hi, I am having trouble with a new whirlpool refrigerator model number WRF535SWHB08. After 30 days of operating nominally (fridge temp 38F. Bottom freezer temp 0F), the refrigerator temperature warmed up to 48F. The bottom freezer remains at 0F. Evap fan runs quietly, no visible ice buildup in freezer, damper in fridge is open , not blocked by food and I feel some cold air blowing in (I don’t know how much air flow is normal). The heat radiating fins under the fridge are clean and free of debris. The first thing I tried was pulling the fridge away from the wall. No change. Second attempt I unplugged the fridge for 12 hours and then plugging it back in. The fridge cooled back down to 38F for about four hours and then warmed back up to 50F. I used the thermestor wire on my Klein multimeter to test the fridge temp with doors closed. The multimeter read 38F while the fridge control panel read 51F. I tested the freezer for accuracy and both read 0F. After an hour the fridge temp and multimeter temp in the fridge both read 51F and there was no further cooling. I did observe the damper automatically close and evap fan stop, then heard occasional “drip sizzling” noises in the bottom freezer from the freezer coils area. (I assume that was a defrost cycle) the fans started up and damper re-opened but no change in fridge temp. After that I tried unplugging the fridge for a day with all doors open and plugging it back in. No water visible in bottom freezer or on floor. This time the fridge did not cool down at all. Fans and damper all still working but fridge control panel and multimeter both consistently reading 51F. I just turned on the max cooling button for a few minutes and then turned it off. Freezer now at -3 and fridge is starting to cool from 51F to 43F. I live at 12,000 feet in the mountains and no service tech will come up here. My findings and how the fridge is behaving don’t make sense to me so I’m looking for advice on how to proceed.
