I went on vacation about 5 yrs ago, so I lifted the ice maker control lever up to stop the ice maker from making ice. When we returned it hasn’t worked since. I feel like the water shut off valve has frozen. Am I wrong ? If I’m right is there a simple fix or do I have to unload the freezer and defrost it ?
We will need your full model number to help with this. You can cycle the icemaker and test the valve to see if it’s sending power to the valve. Be sure and watch your multi-meter when it is cycling, it only sends power for a few seconds. If your getting power to the valve, then it is either froze up, or a bad water valve.
