12 yr old GE leaking

Hi,
My GE dishwasher has a small leak near the motor/pump assembly.
I’ve taken it apart and it’s looks as though the water may be coming down
from the Spray Arm Assembly. There is a little water corrosion trail(I have somewhat hard water) on the rubber connector to the spray arm but it’s hard to tell if it’s from water dripping down or because wherever the water is coming from it then hits the little axle of the pump and sprays a little water bead upwards. I can replace the pump/motor assembly but thats pricey, or try the Spray Arm Assembly which is cheaper. Can you give me your best guess as to which is the more likely problem? Plus the spray arm assembly looks a bit tricky to remove. I can’t quite figure out how it comes off.
Thanks a bunch,
Dave H.

I would dry the unit underneath with some paper towels.
Then run a cycle while watching underneath to see if you can confirm that it is leaking where the spray arm assembly meets the tub. A small mirror and a flashlight help here.

If it is leaking here I would get both Item 545 AP2617404 and Item 455.
Looks like 545 is a kit which usually means the original had problems.

To disassemble:
Item 554 unscrews, I think it is a reverse thread
Then the riser part of the spray arm comes off
Undo the bolt in the center of 501
Then the spray arm comes off
Then 550 unscrews

I would remove as much water from the unit as you can before unscrewing 550, a turkey baster comes in handy here.
